Field Trip to Aanai Malai. Children of Grade VI visited Yoga Narasimhar temple to study the sculptors, art and architecture of cave temples. The priest of the temple explained about the traditional deity of Vaishnavas. A work sheet on cave temples was prepared and discussed with the students.
Grade VIII had an adventurous trekking in the foot hills of Alagarkovil during their value camp. Children made different varieties of greeting card on the harvest festival. Children were engaged in group discussion on the production of sugarcane among countries. A concept map on types of jaggeries were also displayed. Children enjoyed the activities along with the games session.
Harvest festival of the session Pongal was celebrated in our assembly today. Children were dressed up in traditional costume and sang folklore, kumki and classical dance. The importance of Sun god and the hard work of the farmers were highlighted through various activities which included debate, role play and the other thought provoking questions on future organic farming. Pongal Charity was organised for Visually handicapped school at Sundarrajanpatti for 275 students.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS (Saturday- 05/01/2019) The first Saturday of the year unleashed an hour of Workshop for Teachers by Mrs. Rini Mathew. The session encapsulated an Introduction on the necessity to CORRELATE and CONNECT through facilitated teaching. Language is at its best when exhibited through an understanding of Human Psychology and the Workshop highlighted the importance of a rapport between one’s students and also with colleagues. Teachers reciprocated with positive feedbacks on the day’s experience and also recalled on the major concerns from the previous session.
Our Junior School children visited Teppakulam today and distributed food packets to the poor and needy people. Children are motivated and encouraged to do more such activities in future. It’s a great initiative.
A National level drawing competition, paint your way to Dubai presenting splash was conducted by Axis bank on the topic "save your environment for future" and "education for all". Children from Grade VI to VIII participated. Ten kids will win trip to LEGOLAND Dubai.
National Mathematics Day was observed on 18.12.18. Ms.Bindu, Vice Principal, Mahatma CBSE, Surveyor Colony addressed the children with Mathematics facts and information. Children had fun playing Puzzles and Games during the assembly.
Students of Grade 6 and 7 visited Alagarkovil for their value camp. They had adventures trekking, fun with conceptual science, cookery activity and understood the steps followed in organic farming for healthy living. Finally they had a nature walk, observed different varieties of plants, and learnt the importance of medicinal plants in day to day life.
Joy to the world... The Lord is come... Our school celebrated a spectacular Christmas celebration with zeal and enthusiasm. Our Junior school children dressed like Angels and Santa and assembled at our Amphi Theatre for a festive time assembly. The celebration was an array of Angel dance, Christmas story , Bible reading ,carols and Bubbling Santa dance. Our Senior Principal Mrs.Premalatha narrated a Christmas story to our children. Children were so excited to welcome the New Year and their curiosity extended and also set the mood of X-mas in the hearts of one and all. Finally they bade Good Bye to 2018 with all the wonderful and Sweet memories and ready to welcome with their fun filled and joyous New Year 2019!
To cherish the beauty of winter season, on the Eve of Christmas celebration, children of Grade VII made snow dolls using different root vegetables. They took part in vegetable carving activity in their cookery class and learnt about the importance of root vegetables in food.
Christmas Charity activities and entertainment program with Sing Along, Christmas Story, Cake Distribution at Panchayat Union Primary School, Andarkottaram. Children enjoyed and had great joy with our team of students and teachers.
Experience Japan organized the valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony of 'Japan on Canvas 2018' on December 7th, 2018 at The Japan Foundation, New Delhi. Our student's paintings were selected among 1400 paintings in India and were honoured.(Anika,Akkshita and Roopa from Grade 7 and Yokini from Grade 6)
Kudos to the winners. Chutti Vikatan conducted quiz on Madurai 200 for Grade VI-IX. Nearly 15 students from different levels secured prizes. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Madura College in the presence of Honorable District Collector Dr.S.Natarajan and the prizes were distributed by Rtn.R.Raja Govindasamy, Director- Mannar Thirumalai Naickar College.
‘Each child is a Star, and each deserves to twinkle’. As a part of children’s day celebrations our school organized a variety of competitions for the children on ‘Children’s Day’. The prize winners of the competitions were encouraged and honored with certificates today.
